Description
The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has been much promoted by China but what it means in reality, and how it has been affected by COVID-19 and global geopolitics remains to be seen. This session will look at the impact of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) on lawyers, law firms and bar associations. It will cover the challenges and opportunities of the BRI for lawyers from different jurisdictions and how they work together, as well as the considerations for the bars that regulate them and for the rule of law. It will also reflect on how the landscape has been changed by the events of 2020. This session promises to deal with the hype and reality for the legal profession of this bold trade initiative.
